Important
Note! Gel iQ Gel Nail Strips are very sensitive to light. Therefore, when applying, avoid having an open package, both outdoors and in direct sunlight indoors.
Preparations
- Remove any old nail polish with a remover that is free from acetone, oil, color, and fragrance.
- File all your nails to the same length and gently push back the cuticles if necessary.
- Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them completely.
Choose a Strip for Each Nail
Hold your nail under the strip chart and choose the size that fits each nail. Bend the sheet to see more easily which size suits you best. It is important not to choose a strip that is too large as it may extend beyond the nail itself.
Clean Your Nails
Clean your nails with the included cleansing wipes.
Apply the Strips in 2 Steps
Note! Avoid touching the sticky surface that will adhere to the nail. Use the manicure stick to gently lift the strip at the back edge.
- Apply the strip close to, but not on, the cuticles and press down. First, press down along the middle of the nail and then down towards the sides to avoid air bubbles.
Seal the Strips
To seal the strips, use the manicure stick or your fingers to press along the edges and encapsulate the nail with the strip. Cut the strip close to the tip of your natural nail.
Cure
Cure under the Depend Gel iQ UV/LED lamp for 60 seconds. (If the lamp is not set to 60 seconds, change it by holding down the start button until it resets to 60 seconds.)
Note! Optimal curing is achieved by holding the lamp 10 cm above your nails. This way, the best flexibility and durability are created.
Conclusion
Smooth the edge of the nail by gently filing the edge. However, do not file on top of the nail.
Extra Tips
Polishing
If you have uneven nails, you can polish them before application. Use one of Depend’s nail buffers to even out the surface of the nails. Start with the coarse side and finish with the fine side to achieve a smooth and even surface. Wipe away all nail dust with a cleansing wipe and let the nails dry completely before applying the strips.
Cleaning and Peeling
Clean your nails and cuticles with a peeling product to optimally prepare them. Use Depend Cuticle Peeling for nails and cuticles. Massage the peeling around the cuticles and on the nails to remove dead skin cells and dirt. Wait 1 minute. Rinse thoroughly and let the nails dry completely before continuing with the application of strips.
Top Coating
Once all the strips are applied and finished: End with a layer of Gel iQ Top Coat for longer durability.
Follow the steps below carefully to gently remove the strips while preserving the quality of your own nails and cuticles.
Products to Use
- Gel iQ Remover Oil
- Warm water (about 40 degrees Celsius)
- A bowl (about 2 liters) that can fit your whole hand. Alternatively, a sink can be used.
Instructions
Apply a generous amount of Remover Oil to the fingers of one hand, along the cuticle and over the entire nail. Massage the oil in for about 20-30 seconds on each nail.
Fill a bowl or sink with warm water (about 40 degrees Celsius). Note: The water should not be so hot that it burns.
Submerge your fingers in the warm water so that all fingers are covered. Wait for about 3 minutes. The warmer the water is, without burning, the better the effect.
After about 3 minutes, you can gently start scraping off the strips at the growth nearest the cuticle. Use a manicure stick or your own nail. Keep your hand in the water.
Gently scrape and let the water penetrate the seam between the nail and the strips. This way, the strips will gradually dissolve, and you can remove them like a color flake. Be careful and loosen the strips piece by piece while keeping your fingers in the water. Be especially cautious at the tip of the nail, where it is driest and can easily break. When scraping, ensure that you do not take any of your own nail with it. The strips are usually stuck hardest at the tip of the nail.
Check the temperature for the best effect. Since the water cools over time, the temperature should be monitored to keep it around 40 degrees. Therefore, it is good to replace or add warmer water during the removal process.
